Q No 10: Why Non ideal solutions do not follow Raults Law ??

Reasoning Question Series
Q No 10: Why Non ideal solutions do not follow Raults Law ??
Ans :
first of all we should know the Raults Law and non ideal solution concept
Raoult's Law: The vapor pressure of a solvent is proportional to its mole fraction. (for solutions)
Non ideal Solutions :
(1) When intermolecular forces between solute and solvent molecules are less strong than between molecules of similar (of the same type) molecules.
(2) When intermolecular forces between dissimilar molecules are greater than those between similar molecules
due to difference intermolecular forcess betweern dissimilar molecules
vapor pressure of solvent is not directly proportional
to its mole fraction.
that is simple ans
